My purported appointment as EFCC chairman fake, says Odumosu

A retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has debunked his purported appointment as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Reports of Mr Odumosu’s appointment trended on Tuesday across various social media platforms without attribution to any source.
However, in a statement issued on Wednesday, the retired police chief said he was not aware of such appointment.
He described the story as an unnecessary distraction by mischief-makers.
The statement read, “Good morning, everyone. I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported ‘EFCC Appointment’. I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s totally untrue.
“This information must have emanated from mischief-makers and should be totally disregarded.”
