Mourinho In Tears As Tottenham suffer major injury blow ahead of Manchester United fixture

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a fresh injury blow and will be without young defender Japhet Tanganga for their match against Manchester United this week.

After a break of over three months due to the coronavirus pandemic the Premier League is set to resume on Wednesday and United will face Jose Mourinho’s Spurs side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday for their first game back in action.
However, Tottenham will be without highly-rated defender Tanganga after he suffered a stress fracture in his back during preparations for the return, according to the Telegraph .

The 21-year-old has emerged as one of Spurs’ best prospects this season and started six of their eight Premier League games before the hiatus.

The injury will leave Mourinho short on options at right-back, with Serge Aurier the only fit player in that position. Tanganga is naturally a centre-back but has featured at right-back this season.

Spurs will also be without Dele Alli when they face United as the midfielder has been handed a one-match suspension by the FA for a social media post about COVID-19.
Tottenham’s preparations for the game against United have been far from ideal as they lost to Norwich in a friendly last week and saw another practice match against Reading cancelled.
They are, however, set to be buoyed by the returns of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko, who all should be available after recovering from injuries during the lockdown period.
