Motorboys plead guilty to stealing phone in Lagos

Two motorboys namely Kingsley Nkem (21) and David Okon (32) were on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a phone valued at N52,000 in Lagos.
Nkem and Okon are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and assault.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Obongha, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on January 17, 2019 at about 5:40pm at Finger Bus Stop, Satellite Town, Lagos.
“The defendants conspired together with others at large to steal one Infinix Hot 6 Camera Phone valued at N52,000 property of one Oliseh Emmanuel Precious,” Obongha said.

The prosecutor also said that the defendants assaulted Precious by giving him fist blow on his mouth, which caused him bodily harm.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 287 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Upon the guilty plea by the defendants, Magistrate K.A Ariyo adjourned the case till January 22, 2019 for facts and sentence.
