More Troubles For APC As Governors Disagree With Buhari’s Choice For Chairmanship Candidate

by

With less than ten days to go before the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention on February 26, there are concerns that the APC National Working Committee (NWC) that will be formed may not have the full backing of major factions within the party.

This is in the wake of reports that a serious conflict has erupted between the APC Governors and the presidency over the selection of the Concensus Chairmanship Candidate for the party ahead of the National Convention in April.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on the other hand, is thought to be more favorable to Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura, a former governor of Nasarawa State, whereas the governors appear to prefer Senator Mohammed Sani Musa.

If this tidbit of information proves to be accurate, it would be the first time that the President would disagree with the governors on the selection of the party’ s national chairman.
