Miyetti Allah lobbies Yahaya Bello for political appointment in Kogi

Fulani socio-cultural group Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Kogi State chapter has appealed for political appointment for its members in Kogi State.

Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja, Secretary of the Fulani umbrella body, Mallam Adamu Abubakar said on Saturday, that the Lokoja Local Government Chairman, Hon.

Dansabe Mohammed should consider them as citizens of Kogi State, appealing for political appointment and government’s interventions for the Fulani people living in Kogi State.

 

They pledged to be law abiding, while describing the State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as a lover of Fulani herders in the State.

The MACBAN Secretary revealed that they have pushed their request to the Lokoja LG Chairman in a meeting with him and Fulani leaders in Lokoja Local Government Council and its environs.

He bemoaned some governors who are rejecting Fulani herders in their State, promising that they would assist in the growth of Kogi State.

The MACBAN Secretary told the Council chairman to emulate the governor in giving support to Fulani herders by collaborating with them as citizens of his Local Government.
He said: “The Fulani elders should be considered in your empowerment programmes, scholarship scheme and motorcycle to ease our movement and also an appointment into your cabinet.

“We the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Kogi state chapter, have resolved to remain
peaceful, law abiding to the constituted authority and lend our support to the Governor of Kogi state,” he said.

Reacting, the Council Chairman, told Fulani group to forward a name of one their members to be appointed Special Adviser on herders-farmers relations, promising Fulanis would participate in his government.
