As the planned nationwide protests against economic hardships approach, top government officials are urging Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration rather than criticize it.

Professor Ali Pate, Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, emphasized that protesting against the president is equivalent to protesting against Nigeria, and instead, advocated for more support.

Similarly, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, sought the public’s backing for the administration, highlighting its efforts to tackle long-standing problems.

Shaibu Audu, Minister of Steel, also joined the chorus, urging Nigerians to give the president a chance to address their concerns.

President Tinubu himself has appealed to Nigerians to shelve their plans for a nationwide hunger protest, requesting time to address their concerns.

The government has reiterated its commitment to upholding citizens’ freedom within the law, while encouraging support for the president’s efforts to address the country’s challenges.
