In a bid to restore peace and security to communities in the North East region of Nigeria, troops of Operation Hadin Kai Theater Command have embarked on a major operation to clear Sambisa Forest and surrounding areas of terrorist elements.

The operation, which is being carried out in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) hybrid force, aims to root out the remnants of terrorists who have been terrorizing communities within and around the Timbuktu Triangle and Sambisa Forest.
According to the Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, the operation is a response to the lingering terrorist activities in the region, which have caused untold hardship and suffering for the people.
The troops have been mandated to clear the entire forest of all terrorist elements and related criminal activities, and to ensure that the region is safe and secure for residents and commuters.
The operation is a welcome development for the people of the region, who have been living in fear of terrorist attacks for many years. It is expected to bring an end to the reign of terror in the region and restore peace and normalcy to the affected communities.
The Theatre Commander has assured that the troops have been adequately trained and equipped to carry out the operation effectively, and that the necessary support and logistics have been put in place to ensure the success of the operation.
Consequently, the combined operation, codenamed Operation Desert Sanity III, rescued 25 persons, comprising 16 women, 2 men and 7 children, from the terrorists’ captivity.
The combined operation advanced from base across the clusters of the terrorists’ locations towards Aulari Ngoromari and Alafa with few encounters with the terrorists who fled the scene before the arrival of the troops.
