No collector’s item will ever come close to the first pair of shoes Jordan wore as a professional basketball player, however, and they’re going up for auction on October 24.
The red and white pair of Nike Air Ships are expected to fetch over 1.6 million dollars and are sending Jordan sneaker heads crazy.
According to Sotheby’s, the auction house who will be selling the shoes, they were worn by the legendary No.23 in his fifth NBA match on November 1, 1984, and are the oldest pair of shoes used by him in professional basketball.
“We put up a lot of other valuable memorabilia items, but I would say on a kind of ongoing and continuous basis Michael Jordan‘s market is really strong.”
