At a keenly contested election of the Central and western senatorial forum on 8th June 2023 Dino Melaye has emerged the winner defeating Leke Abejide of ADC and Olayinka Braimoh of Action Alliance Party.. The Central and western forum was formed in 2015 to wrestle the Governorship power from the Eastern Senatorial District.
Some notable politician like Gen Jemibewon, Clarence Olorunfemi,sule Baba Ali Gen Tunde Ogbeha,.Prof Aliu, Sen Ohiare,Barr Justina Abanida e.t.c established this forum as a pressure group to unite Central and Western politician and wrestle power from the Eastern Senatorial District at the APC Governorship Congress in Lokoja in 2014.despite their effort at the APC primary of 2014
Prince Abubakar Audu came First and Yayah Bello was Second..and the demise of Prince Abubakar Audu brought Yayah Bello as Governor of Kogi State.
The Central and Western Senatorial District Forum is a well recognised forum and respected pressure group that agreed that equitably it is the turn of Western Senatorial District to produce the next Governor of Kogi State.
Based on this trajectory,an election was held based on eight criteria of competence ,capacity antecedents in Public office etc among the three Western Senatorial District contestants on the 8th of June 2023 at Amso Hotel Abuja and the results were thus :
Senator Dino Melaye scored 2203. and won the election.
Leke Abejide scored 1885 came second position.
Olayinka Braimoh scored 1095 and came third.
It is worthy of note that the three contestants were invited for screening on 5th day of June 2023 at Amso Hotel by the Central and Western. Forum and they submitted themselves to the forum to determine which of them is most suitable for presentation as the one candidate that both Central and West Senatorial District will support for winning on 11th November 2023 General Election.
Undoubtedly, history has been made that Central and Western Senatorial District were able to elect a candidate that they will vote for in unison on 11th of November 2023.
It is our fervent prayer and advise that Leke Abejide and Olayinka Braimoh will respect the result of this election and step down from this Governorship contest so that the western Senatorial candidate Dino Melaye will win at the General election on 11th November 2023.
The entire Western Senatorial District should put away their differences and accept this verdict as being from God, so that Western Senatorial District will win the General Election of 11th November 2023
We urge Leke Abejide and Olayinka Braimoh to sacrificialyl join hands in unity with Dino Melaye to achieve our dream of 22years, God bless us all.
