The Managing Director, Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC), Alhaji Abbas Umar Masanawa has declared bid to contest the governorship election of Katsina State in the 2023 general elections.
Alhaji Masanawa obtained the N50 million governorship nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressive Congress (APC) on Tuesday.
OBSERVERSTIMES reports that the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company is a subsidiary of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with sole responsibility to produce Nigeria’s currency and a range of other important security documents.
Confirming Abbas political aspiration, the Head, Campaign Team, Umar Faruk Abubakar, said, “with his Professionalism and vast experience both in katsina and national level, Masanawa has the intellectual capacity, composure to lead a cosmopolitan Environment like Katsina”, adding that Katsina needs Leader like him to take the State to greater level..
Abbas Masanawa, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, obtained his postgraduate degree in Business Administration from University of Maiduguri in 2000.
He worked briefly with FSB Bank before joining Zenith Bank where he worked for about 17 years.
He rose to the position of Deputy General Manager before his appointment in 2014 as the Special Assistant and Chief Liaison to the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria in Sept. 2014.
