Manchester United have made Erling Haaland transfer decision

It has not been long since John Murtough was made Manchester United’s first football director but it looks like he is already starting to prepare to take the club back to the top of English football.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, the club’s football director and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have mutually agreed that Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is the ideal long-term replacement of Romelu Lukaku. As a result, he is set to be their priority when it comes to signing a striker in the transfer market.

Haaland has been absolutely sensational over the past couple of seasons. Since joining Borussia Dortmund in January of last year, the Norwegian striker has scored 47 goals and provided 11 assists in 48 appearances for the Bundesliga giants. That is an incredible record for any player, especially one who is just 20 years of age and still developing as a footballer.

He also seems like a player for the big occasion and his record in the Champions League is just astounding. In 14 appearances in the competition, he has scored 20 goals!

United had reportedly tried to sign the striker from Red Bull Salzburg back in January of last year as well. But ultimately, they could not reach a deal and he ended up moving to Borussia Dortmund instead.

After his performances for the Bundesliga side since then, he is already being linked with a move away from the club with a number of Europe’s biggest sides interested in securing his signature. Other than the Red Devils; Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and many others are believed to be interested in Haaland. And it is not hard to see why.

Ultimately, Haaland is expected to be one of the best players in the world for the foreseeable future and could end up being one of the defining players of his generation. Thus, if the opportunity did present itself, Manchester United should not think twice before bringing him to Old Trafford.
