Manchester United 0-2 Man City highlights and reaction after Stones and Fernandinho goals

Manchester City are one win away from a fourth successive Carabao Cup triumph after moving into the final at the expense of Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Both sides went into the game full of confidence, with City undefeated in their last 11 games in all competitions and United having collected 26 points from the last 30 available in the Premier League.

United and City had goals disallowed for offside in the first half, with Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden denied by the linesman’s flag for City, and John Stones’ own-goal at the other end also ruled out.

The encounter was far more exciting than the league meeting between these two sides last month and John Stones ensured the game also had a goal, as he bundled home from a free-kick.

United searched for an equaliser but City secured the 2-0 win through a Fernandinho strike from distance.
