It is uncalled for the decision of some political dissidents from the home state of the current National Financial Secretary of People’s Democratic Party PDP, and member of the National Working Committee NWC,Alhaji Abdullahi Maibasira,demanding the removal of the youthful and intermediate representation at the top heirachy of the party.
Maibasira today as member of the NWC from Niger state is the leader of the party in the state,and portraying him in bad light and linking him to anti- party activities is not only desperate on the part of the collaborators,but a disservice to democratic tenets and the collective spirit that had sustain the main opposition party in the last five years.
Recall that Maibasira has served the party, PDP in various capacities in the last few years from the Unit to Ward, Local Government to State and National level as member of the National Working Committee NWC,and had contributed in no small measure to the electoral process of Governor’s, Senators,Members of the House of Representatives as well President in all remifications.
His contributions to the Party trascends primordial and personal interest, unlike the protagonist of the protests that led the party into failure in the last election in Niger state, due to internal wranglings and minor political disagreements,that would have been ordinarily ressolve.
The National Financial Secretary has made alot of sacrifices in the days when the party was crises ridden and infiltrated by stooges of the government in power,whose aims was to decapitate the strong opposition party,that was narrowly defeated in the 2015 general elections.
He was firm ,focus and determine to reposition and redirect the former ruling party and now the main opposition party,without reservation,as his current National Working Committee NWC,made a brilliant and remarkable perfomance in the last general elections in Nigeria, by winning many more states belonging to APC,the ruling party,and narrowly lost his home state,not because of he is unpopular,but greed and anti- party activities of the leaders that have turn against his good gesture.
In an organised environment,there is always a process and procedures to carrying out agitations and complaints,hiring and sponsoring jobless youths and hawkers around Abuja to disguise as PDP members, to protest his continuous membership of the NWC,is archaic and no longer in vogue.
People’s Democratic Party PDP, NEC and NWC has a lot of confidence in the leadership of Maibasira as a top party starlwart from Niger state and demonstrated his Leadership acumen at the National level, as a member of the NEC/NWC,so anyone or groups with grievances may channel it to the appropriate quaters and not through uncivil process.
Abdullahi Maibasira sustained the party in victory,and crises now that it’s a strong formidable opposition positioned to return to National leadership in the nearest future,he will not be gagged into miniature disagreements.
He remain focused,determine and readily available to offer leadership advise both in his home state of Niger, and at the National level, as he does not believe in political pettiness and needless rancour.
Maibasira remain a strong party man,not distracted by any flimsy allegations of anti- party activities,and prepare to lead Niger state back to victory under PDP in the next dispensation.
