Lokoja,State Capital Groans For 2 weeks,Over Non Availability of Pipe Borne Water ,

The state capital,lokoja is again thrown into acute water scarcity as residents have been experiencing dry taps for consecutive two weeks, even with the presence of greater Lokoja water works

The inability of the state government to carry out routine turn around maintenance and payment of financial commitment to the companies carrying out the repairs, is responsible for the current situation

Consequently the residents have resorted to patronising Commercial water vendors from boreholes and other source to attend to domestic pressing issues

It was revealed that since the inception of the administration of Yahaya Bello in the last three and half years,water supply Through the greater Lokoja water works had been epileptic, subjecting the residence to untold hardship

It was further confirm that the influx of INEC offiicals,adhoc staff of the forthcoming governorship election in the state, were seen struggling on how to access pipe borne water in the state capital

Lokoja nicknamed the confluence state were River Niger and Benue naturally converge is least expected to experience acute water scarcity amidst the two rivers that ordinarily provided a leeway to

availability of water

As at press time,there was no concerted efforts on the part of the state government to resolve the water scarcity in lokoja and it’s metropolis
