LOKOJA/ABUJA ROAD : Many Feared Dead As Armed Robbers Attack Motorists Along Lokoja-Abuja Road

Suspected armed robbers numbering ten attacked some passengers travelling along the Lokoja-Abuja Federal highway on Sunday evening.
It was reliably gathered that several vehicles ran into them as luck, however, ran out on some who got killed.

A source who was at the scene of the incident said the armed robbers blocked the highway with stones and other dangerous objects to prevent the motorists from escaping from the trap.
However, when some motorists travelling along the highway got to the scene, they could not escape as the bandits opened fire on the passengers.
Some of them died and others sustained different degrees of injuries.
The incident which took place after Gadder beau, before Kweita, a community along Lokoja-Abuja Federal highway.
The eyewitness report said a team of military men, however, ran into the accident and helped to convey the corpses to the hospital.
The eyewitness report could not immediately ascertain the actual number of people feared dead, and efforts to reach the Police and Road safety the number of casualties has been difficult.
Meanwhile, all effort to speak with the Police Public Relation Officer of Kogi State Police Command, William Ayah on the incident proved abortive.
