The Kogi State leading Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Aspirant, Abubakar Ibrahim says his mission to observe the lesser Hajj, was to enable him pray for the liberation of Kogi State from bad governance.
Fresh from lesser hajj, the peoples choice for Lugard House in Kogi, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim stated his mission to the holy land shortly after arriving Nigeria at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.
He assured that people of the state, more than any other time, need to seek the face of God, for their future leader in the state ahead the forthcoming governorship election.
He said only divine intervention necessitated his recent trip to the holy land, says he intends to lead the state with the fear of God.
Fielding questions from newsmen on his arrival, the Kogi governorship hopeful said following the level of political manoeuvre by politicians and his wide acceptance by both the political gladiators and the political class towards his ambition, necessitated his seeking divine intervention, informed his mission to seek divine guidance.
According to Abubakar, said following the myriad of Kogi’s misfortune, the imperative to seek for prayers for the people and the state with high sense of calmness and dedication was his major reasons for the lesser hajj.
He said the task ahead may not be easy, but assured that it is divinely surmountable, said the PDP would salvage the state from the current social, economic and developmental backwardness of the state if elected.
He promised to offer purposeful leadership, stating that his resolve to run for top Kogi job, was informed by love, care and resolve to return Kogi to its glorious days.
Alhaji Abubakar advised fellow aspirants, party gladiators and stakeholders not to over heat the polity, said plans by the ruling party to divide the PDP, winning the forthcoming governorship election is rife, warned against falling prey to their antics, urged citizens of the state to play the game according to the rules, and to be law abiding.
