by

The national chairman of the Labour Party, Bar Julius Abure said the party is not and has no intention to be part of any merger arrangement with the yet to be formed Mega Political organisation.

Bar Abure also dismissed some of those people promoting the merger arrangement as political dreamers who are once again starting another new journey of politics with lies, deceit and deception.

Prominent Nigerians including a former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega and a  political economist, Professor Pat Utomiearlier in the week said they will on October 1 unveil a  mega political movement.

There is also the alleged talks between the promoters of the mega political association with other political parties including the African Democratic Congress and the Labour Party, which they claimed have reached an advanced stage.

However, LP Chairman, Bar. Abure while refuting the involvement of the Labour Party in the evolving arrangement said, “It is sad and totally disappointing for a crowd of recurring Political dreamers to begin to once again start another new journey of politics with lies, deceit and deception.

“The national leadership of Labour party hereby completely deny and strongly dissociates our party from any kind of talk regarding any new Political Party.

“All the print media in their various  publication on  Wednesday the 23rd day of September 2021, went public with a claim that the National Chairman of LP, Bar Julius Abure was part of a dreaming crowd that some other political floaters plan to form the nucleus of a new mega party.

“Without cross – checking the truth of the story with the LP, the print media sadly, unethically, embarassingly and unprofessionally went ahead to publish the lies.

However, it is strongly reiterated to all concerned that Labour Party is not and will never be a part of some political pretenders in pursuit of a political mirage .

Bar. Abure said the Labour Party is getting stronger and bigger by the day and that the party is looking forward to the next series of elections with great hope.

“We have the ideology, programme, and the innovative ideas to provide a pragmative leadership that can harness the human and material resources to reposition the country for greatness.

“We therefore advise those behind the new party to join hands with our party to produce the new set of leaders in the country.”
