The Peoples’ Democratic Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) is holding the 2025/5th meeting at the Conference Room, Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge, Asoroko.

The meeting is expected to feature an enlarged session of incumbent and former governors of the PDP, provided they remain listed in the Party’s Membership Nominal Roll.

The agenda will cover National issues, Party unity, and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Also, the Forum will equally host the National Working Committee (NWC) led by the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagum.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Denies Defection Rumours Following Viral ‘Omo Ologo’ Video
ABUJA, NIGERIA – Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has moved to dispel swirling rumours of a potential political shift following the emergence of a viral TikTok video featuring the popular song ‘Omo Ologo,’ a well-known track associated with President Bola Tinubu.
The brief 15-second video, which surfaced online on May 8th, depicted the senator in a seemingly lighthearted moment, subtly smiling while the song played in the background. This prompted a wave of reactions across social media, with some interpreting her use of the track as a possible indication of a change in political allegiance.
‘Omo Ologo’ (meaning ‘glorious child’), performed by Kano-based musician Dauda ‘Rarara’ Kahutu, has gained significant traction since its debut at a dinner event held in Katsina State on May 3rd. The dinner was organized to honour President Tinubu during his recent official visit to the state, where he addressed regional security concerns. Rarara’s song serves as an ode to the President, celebrating him as a victorious leader who has triumphed over his critics.
In her original TikTok post, which included the caption, “Just for fun, song choked,” some online users viewed the comment as a playful remark, while others attributed deeper political significance to it.
However, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has since issued a public disclaimer via her X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, explicitly stating that she does not operate a TikTok account.
The lawmaker clarified that the widely circulated video, which incorporated a short clip of her with the ‘Omo Ologo’ soundtrack, was not posted by her.
While urging the public to disregard the video, Akpoti-Uduaghan further explained that it was fabricated using an older video of her from 2023.
She wrote on X: “Public Alert ⚠️ I do not own a TicTok account. Many parody accounts exist in my name on X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Some have garnered large following. While I hold the President in utmost respect; I’d urge everyone to disregard the mischievous post made using an old 2023 video of mine. God bless – Senator @NatashaAkpoticUduaghan.”
This statement aims to quell the burgeoning speculation and reaffirm the senator’s current political stance amidst the online chatter.

Anambra’s political landscape is ablaze with accusations of a presidential power play, as APC governorship aspirant Valentine Ozigbo claims President Bola Tinubu is strategically supporting Governor Charles Soludo’s reelection to undermine Peter Obi’s influence.
In a candid interview on Arise TV, Ozigbo asserted that this perception is widespread among supporters. “There is an allegation that the President wants Soludo to come back because of Peter Obi; he sees him as an opponent of Obi, and therefore there’s some understanding that Soludo will return,” Ozigbo stated, labeling such a move an “inferior proposition.”
Ozigbo, who himself made a high-profile switch from the Labour Party to the APC, believes his move has significantly bolstered the party’s standing in Anambra. “My moving into APC changed the trajectory,” he emphasized, contrasting his impact with the less noticed defection of a rival.
He further alleged that Governor Soludo has positioned himself as a counterforce to the Labour Party, appealing to those who fear its growing popularity. “Soludo must have gone to whoever to say, like they’re saying now, that APC is weak; his problem is Labour, and so support me in APGA so that I will come back because you don’t want Labour to win in Anambra State,” Ozigbo claimed.
The APC aspirant argued that his own defection has directly challenged this narrative, transforming the APC into a formidable contender. “APC is weak, Labour is strong, who in Labour? Valentine Ozigbo. By me leaving Labour to join APC, APC is strong today, and this is why I’m fighting this battle,” he explained.
Ozigbo concluded with a scathing critique of what he perceives as Soludo’s duplicitous political maneuvering. “I don’t want this type of deal where Soludo is APGA in the afternoon and APC in the night, and so you create a confusion; you’re not strengthening the party, you’re not helping anybody,” he declared, suggesting Soludo is playing both sides to secure his reelection.

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has addressed concerns raised by opposition leaders regarding Nigeria potentially becoming a one-party state. Speaking to State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, Ganduje stated that the APC would not object if Nigerians desire the party to control a majority of states and the federal government.

Ganduje’s comments followed his introduction of three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators, reportedly from Kebbi State, who have agreed to defect to the APC, to President Tinubu.

Responding to worries about a one-party system, Ganduje remarked, “If a one-party state is a wish and blessing to Nigeria… a one-party state is not by force, it is by negotiation and it is by other political parties seeing the effect of the positive governance of our party. If they decide to come to our party willingly, I think there is nothing wrong with that.”

He further drew a comparison with China, stating, “Today China is one of the strongest countries in the world and it’s a one-party system. We are not saying we are working for a one-party system but if this is the wish of Nigerians, we cannot quarrel with that.” Ganduje also suggested that “too many political parties spoil governance.”

Regarding the recent defections and the visit with the PDP senators, Ganduje explained that it aligns with President Tinubu’s initiative to democratically increase the APC’s numerical strength and the quality of its followership. He specifically highlighted the situation in Kebbi State, noting that extensive behind-the-scenes discussions and negotiations among key stakeholders had led to the three PDP senators’ decision to join the APC.

“This is a good development and it is in consonance with what is happening in Nigeria today. Almost every week in the Senate and House of Representatives, you see members of other political parties decamping to our party,” Ganduje asserted. He added that their visit to the President was to secure his blessing for this resolution, which he graciously granted, hinting at developments expected in the Senate by Tuesday.
Addressing potential concerns about the integration of new members, Ganduje assured that the party’s constitution and its political experience in managing such transitions would ensure a smooth process.
