Social critic, Comrade Usman Austin Okai has tasked Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello to pay state workforce their full salary in February 2022, along with minimum wage promised rather than contemplating otherwise.
An interaction with the media confirmed Kogi government plans to pay percentage salary in February without the approved minimum wage.
He said they will be no justification paying state workers percentage salaries as it is being done at the local level in the last six years.
He urged the state workforce to resist this impending anomaly, saying if allowed , it will become a norm for the rest two years of this administration.
‘Two Years after the approval of national minimum wage, Kogi had enjoyed it on promisory note, after it was painstakingly approved and now being reneged.’
Okai expressed worry the position of workers union in the state, stating their lukewarm attitudes as dangerous to the welfare to Kogi workers welfare.
