Kogi West Election Tribunal:INEC Closes Case, Unable To Present Witness

The INEC counsel in the ongoing kogi West election tribunal today closes case following her inability to produce any witness to justify her claims in the matter.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Tuesday pleaded with the tribunal for and adjournment owing to his failure to present his witness who he claimed was in Yoga.

You could remember that the Petitioners in the dispute over the last election held in Kogi West Senatorial District of Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) closed their case last week.

Melaye, the candidate of the PDP, is together with the party, challenging the outcome of the election held on November 16, 2019 claimed to be won by Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Party (APC).

The first respondent, INEC announced the closure of their case accepting to depend on the testimonies of the Petitioner and the PDP witnesses statements to write their brief.

The court has adjourned to Tuesday 5th of May to continue the matter with the second respondent to present their witnesses.
