Kogi: Unknown Gunmen Kill Kogi Pension Board Commissioner

The death has occurred of a Commissioner in the Kogi State Pension Board, Hon. Solomon Akeweje

Hon. Akeweje according to a source had said he died following an accident that occurred in Eruku while returning from Ilorin Kwara State.

But another version which was corroborated by the Police however said unknown gunmen opened fire on his vehicle which led to his death, while his driver is said to be in an unstable condition at an undisclosed hospital.

DSP William Ayah, PPRO confirmed the incident, said the Commissioner was attacked by unknown gunmen who opened fire on his vehicle.

He however said the injured have been rushed to ECWA Hospital Egbe but was unable to confirm any death.

It is however uncertain according to the PPRO whether the gunmen where armed robbers, bandits or kidnappers, said investigation is ongoing.

The death has however thrown Yagba West LGA in sad mood as many described today as a black Saturday.
