The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Governorship candidate, Engr Musa Wada , have closed their case at the Kogi state Election Petitions Tribunal.
After a series of proceedings which lasted over two months at the Tribunal sitting in Abuja, the petitioners closed their case on Wednesday, adjourned to 15 of May for cross briefing and final note address, OBSERVERS TIMES learnt.
The PDP called total number of 33 witnesses to testify, in addition to the tendering of documents to prove its case before the Tribunal and about 240 exhibits admitted in evidence including various video clips of violence in Ajaokuta, Lokoja and others with Yahaya Bello called only one witness and relying and adopted the INEC lawyer report like wise to the All Progressives Congress
The opposition and its candidate are challenging the re-election of Yahaya Bello in the November 16th poll, the election that was described as one of the most violent, manipulated election in history.
Meanwhile, PDP returning officer in the last election, Capt Joe Agada has called on the lovers of Democracy in the country to stand by the people of Kogi state during this trial time to ensure justice being seek for is served, describing the ongoing Tribunal sitting as a key component in redressing the injustice, Echoing the public perception of the kogi state deadly and bloodshed election, Agada said justice is all they are after.
