Kogi Tribunal: Election Tribunal Rulings: APC Motion Dismissed, Pre-Hearing Extension Granted, INEC Testimony Deferred

In today’s session at the Election Tribunal, significant rulings were handed down regarding the ongoing proceedings involving the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Firstly, the tribunal dismissed a motion filed by the APC and Ahmed Usman Ododo, seeking to block the use of an inspection report as evidence. Subsequently, a request for an extension of pre-hearing time, presented by Akubo SAN, was approved by the tribunal.

Furthermore, attention was drawn to a motion regarding the summoning of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a witness for the inspection report, which has been postponed to a later date for a comprehensive hearing.

As a result of these developments, the pre-hearing proceedings have been adjourned, with the next session slated for February 14, 2024.
