Tribunal declared Yahaya Bello as the duely elected governor of Kogi state. Each petitioner should pay 500 thousand naira to Yahaya Bello and INEC,
With Two judges affirmed Yahaya Bello with minority judgement in favour of Engr Musa Wada ,
Despite Court of appeal and Supreme Court judgement compelling Tribunal to accept forensic evidence the panel still went ahead to affirm Yahaya Bello.
The have alleged substantial none compliance with the provisions of the electoral Act, Over voting, Violence, Snatching of ballot boxes, Failure to accredit e.t.c. the tribunal is stating the law on the proof of each of those allegations. Of note is the Tribunal’s reliance on the Supreme Court’s decision where it held that manual accreditation is still part of our laws and the manuals and guidelines of INEC on use of card reader machine cannot override the provisions of the Electoral Act on manual accreditation. The Tribunal restates the position that it would be fatal for a Petitioner to only rely on card reader report in proof of over voting or non-accreditation of voters.
