OBSERVERS TIMES can authoritatively report that In the last 24 hours, no fewer than eight people were killed in Anyigba the suppose heart of Igala kingdom, among them are Mustapha 2pac and Alfa, others were critically injured while others sustained various degrees of injury as members of a cult groups attacked each others over Local Government appointments, promised by the Dekina Local Government administrator . The attackers that unleashed terror on the popular People’s Democratic Party PDP Zonal Chiarman, Alhaji Momoh Pele in the same area,clamped down on people around Ofe Uduh Anyigba area of the town, after his three vehicles and houses around and others were destroyed, as they were confronted by one of the onlookers, the cultist said “We pursued somebody into the compound and we can’t go back empty hands”.
The climax of the dreadful cultist and APC political thugs have been operational at cross purpose in Anyigba, geared towards demobilising the victory chances of the main opposition PDP in the last six months before the November 16 election.
The University town of Anyigba which initial plans by the former adminstration was to attract developement to the area,were been hijacked by subsequent administration as training ground for culitists within and outside the University, as not less than 30 students have been killed over inter rivalry cult activities within and outside the school premises .
The state government has kept mute over the ugly developement, as many of the cult related crises in Anyigba was the offshoot of the political thugs engaged both in February and the last November Governorship election in the state by the current administration.
The town became notorious for cult and political crises related activities as the area was used as the operational zone were hired and trained APC political thugs were used in the last election,denying the electorates rights to franchise ,killing many innocent citizens .
OBSERVERS TIMES efforts to reach the traditional ruler of the town,The Ogohi Onu Anyigba prove abortive as his phone contact was not connecting,even though another reports indicted the traditional institutions over meddlesomenes.
According to PDP Zonal Chairman Alhaji Momoh Pele said, “It was on Thursday I got to know, the scene when the incident happened, at my age I am not a cultist I don’t know what concern me with cult people except if they are acting on some instructions”
The member of Momoh Pele Family confided in the OBSERVERS TIMES and revealed that nobody ran into the compound, as the cultist broke the doors and search everywhere/ corner of the zonal Chiaman house and went away with phones and other valuables items”
Dekina Local Government Administrator,Siaka Shaibu Okolo over the night held a security meeting with some stakeholders and the outcome is yet to be communicated to the public.
It was reliably gathered that the local adminstration is also responsible both for the immediate and remote causes of the crises,as a result of intra political rivalry between his followers over appointments and sharing of various revenue generating offices, ANYIGBA born Islamic cleric who don’t want his names mention said,Dekina Administor will give one job to a particular cult group today and tomorrow collect that same job and give it to rivalry cult group is also part the problems.
According to sources,his followers have broken into different political camps, build up to the upcoming Local Government elections to make sure he is not return as the substantive council Boss.
Another victim of the attack,who don’t wants his name mentioned, reported how his own car was also destroyed where it was parked not far from Momo Pele house, he said they cultist were on their way from Pele House and also attacked him and beat him to stupor, he said the attacked on Alhaji Momoh Pele was premeditated as the cultist are carrying out orders from some big names in town.
The Police heirachy in Anyigba were glaringly not doing anything to curtail the activities of the culitists and political thugs,as they were only seen visiting the scene after the incidence.
The reactions of the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kogi state Police command who was contacted on the incident, was being awaited as at the time of filing this report as Anyigba Area Commander refused to pick several phone calls 48 hours after the attacks by culitists and political thugs.
If the state government “sidon look” and security agents lackadaisical attitudes rages,alot of crises and counter crises will prevail,leading to complete break down of law and order in the Univeristy town .
