Kogi state Police Command said it has rescued six of the passengers abducted by some suspected armed kidnappers on Wednesday morning at about 6.30 am along Lokoja-Abuja road after killing two persons and injuring others.
The police public relations officer of the command, DSP William Aya who confirmed the story on Thursday said six persons were rescued on Wednesday immediate after the incident .
According to him, the Kogi state Police Commissioner, CP Ayuba Ede when he received calls on the attack quickly mobilised his unit and stormed the area.
Aya noted that the police who swung into action after the distress call had rescued six abducted persons saying manhunt for the arrest of the bandits has begun and promised to rescue the abducted persons who are still with the kidnappers, assuring the public that the police will work assiduously to arrest all those involved in the dastardly act.
During the attack, one Mr. Nicholas Ofodile a business man from Lokoja and one other person were killed while some passengers were abducted by the bandits on Wednesday.
