Kogi: Primary School Teacher Cries Out After Receiving N4,958 May Salary

Salary alert is one which employees happily look forward to at the end of every month, but that has not been the case for local government workers and primary school teachers in Kogi state whose salaries have been described as ridiculous.

It is no longer news that these section of workers in the state have been helplessly jostling between 20-25% of their actual salaries, being the peanuts handed over to them by the government since the inception of the Yahaya Bello administration.

However, one of the primary school teachers who could no longer hold his peace has shared the munched screen of the alert he got.

Suleiman Nazir Muhammad with a crying emoji took to Facebook to lament the salary he got for the month of May, and paid into his account in July by the State Universal Education Board (SUBEB),
He shared:

“Aftermath of Autonomy, this is what I received as may salary that was paid yesterday 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭And some idiot will be ask if I collected bank loan.
Walahi, I have never in any way involved in bank loan since I was born.”

The post which went viral on Facebook had people expressing disbelief, while some condemning the manner in which the workers are being treated.

“This is inhuman, how do u feed a family with 4k plus for 30days. You can’t expect productivity from people with this….. Kogi my dear state. May Allah take control of the situation” – Abdulrasheed Anda.

The fact that i’m not from kogi! I really feel bad for there civil servant, can you imagine school teacher receiving 4958.78 as a monthly salary and the mumu youths in the state are still supporting bad government be cause of 5k they’re collecting from there mumu leaders. May God safe the state sha.. Brother sorry for the Inconvenience of GYB” – Lawson Zubair Omeiza

“That is when government has use your salary to pay for masquerades and celebrities salaries,,,, calm down what goes up will actually come down if only we patient😎😎😎😎😎” –Nafisah Ahmed Oyiza
