A pastor with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Tawari, Kogi State, Rev Danlami Yakwoi, has been reportedly killed by kidnappers.
This was revealed by one of his sons who was also kidnapped but released after the family paid the ransom demands of the abductors.
It was gathered that that the cleric, his two sons and a nephew were abducted by kidnappers on July 12, 2021. The son was released and revealed that his father was tortured to death by kidnappers four days before he was set free.
According to the church secretary, Musa Shekwolo, “one of his children who was kidnapped along with him was released on Sunday, July 25, and he informed us that his father died a day before his release by the herdsmen.”
The pastor’s captors are yet to release his corpse to his family, and two of his family members are still being held captive.”
Shekwolo confirmed that Pastor Yakwoi’s family paid a ransom for the release of his son.
