Kogi Kidnap Kingpin Arrested At Ochadamu

 

In furtherance of the commitment of the Men of Nigeria Hunters Council Ofu chapter to keep the Local Government safe from all forms of criminality, a suspected leader of the kidnappers in Ofu Local Government has been apprehended on Thursday evening 21st April, 2022 during a raid along Adumu, Ochadamu and Ogbakpedo area of the Local Government.

The leader of the criminal group was intercepted by the hunters while he was fleeing from his hideout to take a cab from Ochadamu Junction.

During interrogation, the suspected leader confessed that he had led many successful operations along the Itobe/Ogbakpedo route, kidnapping and collecting huge ransoms from innocent motorists and commuters.

Speaking at the scene of the incident, the Special Adviser to Ofu Local Government on Security matters, Hon. Mohammed Lawal Musa noted that the leader of the group and two others escaped during the last operation that claimed the lives of their two members.

He said that men of the hunters succeeded in capturing the kingpin through serious manhunt, investigations, and a thorough search in all the forests of the targeted locations.

He hailed the bravery and gallantry of the hunters for their recent achievements while urging them not to rest on their oars.

Hon. Lawal reiterated his zero tolerance for crime, warning all intending culprits to desist from crime, disclosing that War against Kidnapping and other social vices has been declared in the Local Government.

The Leader of the group was handed over to the men of the Nigerian Navy for further investigation and trial.
