The Aminu Abubakar Suleiman Campaign Organization note with displeasure a headline about a PDP Gubernatorial aspirant with profound respect in the person of Dr. Peter Akwu who has been erroneously portrayed to have stepped down for Alhaji Aminu A. Suleiman as a reaction to resolutions reached at a meeting between the National Working Committee of the PDP and aspirants jostling for the PDP ticket to Lugard House in Kogi State. We want to state clearly without equivocation that the headlines are quite misleading and do not represent the true picture of what transpired.
The AAS Campaign Organization has been engaged in bridge building negotiations and alliances from the word go. Our principal appreciates the fact that we have a common goal and that is to salvage Kogi State from its present predicament. This ultimate objective will remain an uphill task if we proceed into the contest with a divided house.
It is in furtherance to this line of thought that channels where open between Dr. Peter Akwu and Alhaji Aminu A. Suleiman and they went into an understanding. It was only a coincidence that his decision to step down coincided with the meeting of aspirants and the NWC of the party. For us, there couldn’t have been a better time for such announcements.
We consider Alhaji Aminu A. Suleiman and Dr Peter Akwu as both competent and vibrant aspirants capable of taking Kogi to greater heights. We also want to use this medium to admonish the press and social media bloggers as critical stakeholders and partners in progress and enjoin them to always seek clarifications and details from the AAS Media Team before making statements. We are stressing more emphasis particularly on headlines of this nature that could prove damaging to our relations, engagements and prospects within the build up to the forth coming elections.
minuThe AAS Campaign Organization wishes to inform the general public to disregard that story as we dissociate ourselves from the impression it was meant to create. AAS Media Team.
