Kogi Guber:Pro Smart Adeyemi Group, OPA, Resolve To Move To Accord Party

To avoid 11th hour political miscalculations,Okun Progressive Association,a pro Smart Adeyemi group has resolved to pitch tent with Accord Party in anticipation of Kogi Governors movement to the party
The moves already concluded was to also show the seriousness of the Senator Smart Adeyemi threat, to work against the ruling All Progressive Congress in the next governorship election in November,If Bello is denied the party ticket
In a statement signed by Job Olayinka Segun and made available to this platform, the group  decisions to move ahead was to guarantee massive support for Governor Yahaya Bello in the next election devoid of any betrayal on his desire to return to Lugard house
The new movement is to further break the rank and file of both the ruling APC and PDP in the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi from the area
Senator Smart Adeyemi has promised Kogi governor that with the movement, the political destiny of Okuns will strictly be determined by the performance of the body in the area
Adeyemi’s movement from APC to Accord is been delayed by the judgement of Kogi West senatorial election tribunal, billed to be mentioned in few months from now
According to the political calculations,With Okun Progressive leading the major role of movement to Accord,Kogi governors extraction from the central will join forces, while the eastern flank will herald a major role through Kogi Chief of Staff,Edward OnojaA former senator representing Kogi West, Smart Adeyemi, has threatened to work against his party, the All Progressives Congress, if the state governor, Yahaya Bello, is denied a second term ticket. He said, “We in Kogi State have seen a young, vibrant and detribalised personality in Governor Bello and we have unanimously resolved to work for his re-election come November 16.”
Adeyemi spoke at a stakeholders’ forum held at the party’s state secretariat in Lokoja, the state capital, on last week Thursday.
The pressure for Kogi governorship ticket under APC by Governor Yahaya Bello, had been a mirage,as all efforts through party leadership, stakeholders, traditional rulers, opinion moulders both serving and former governors of the ruling party, to prevail on the party leadership to concede his second term bid may not see the light of the day
The party leadership had maintained that leadership ineptitude and gross maladministration owing from non payment of workers salaries and pension, as responsible for the poor performance of Governor Yahaya Bello in kogi state
Workers in the services of both state and local government were owed salaries between 45 to 18 months without any sign of resolution to offset their salaries
The dearth of Infrastructural development, lack of social services and wanton denials was also responsible for the bad blood between the party leaders and Kogi governor
