Anyigba – Usman Jibrin Onyibe CFR, on Saturday in Anyigba, declared his intention to contest the 2019 governorship election,with a promise to eradicate corruption, prompt payment of workers salary and pensions,adequate attention to health cares sector, Agriculture and sound Educational policy. The former Naval Chief, formally declared his intention before a mammoth crowd made up of pro- Jibrin support groups, APC stakeholders, market women and Civil Society Organisations in his country home Anyigba, Kogi state.
Usman said he accepted to contest the election following the calls by many Kogites for him to contest the governorship election and after seeking and hearing from God. Jibrin said “History has shown that the part of honour for any true leader is not to walk away from his people in moments of challenges. “We must come together in adversity and overcome all threats to our development. “After seeking the face of God, in quiet reflection with my family and after listening to the calls of our people across the state to run, I have accepted to present myself to seek for the APC ticket’’, the aspirant said. He, however, promised that if given opportunity his administration will impact positively on all sectors of the state economy, there is much to be done to take the confluence state to the next level of development.
He thanked kogites for their continued support and encouragement since he indicated interest and bought party nominations and expression of interest forms which he said had brought him this far. “So many things had inspired me in the journey to this moment; I thank kogites and the Market Women Association, the Okada riders, the taxi drivers, the farmers and students who encourage me through morals support and prayers.
