Kogi State Governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Party, APC Usman Jibrin CFR, has said that the outcome of the governorship election in the state will be determined by candidate’s capacity to deliver good governance.
Usman Jibrin CFR said he has absolute confidence in the party leadership in Its desire to organise free,fair and credible primaries in few months away Admiral Jibrin made this stand in view of the prevalent of all forms of lobbying machinery to hijack the governorship ticket of Kogi state, Usman commended the National leadership for its steadfastness to resist all forms of manipulation in the interest of the party and the people of kogi state He said the ruling party stands a better chance to reform the lives of the people of the state from the current leadership problems,saying the best legacy kogi people deserve,is people oriented administration.
The retired Naval officer said it is through good governance and selfless service that citizens of Kogi state will be better for it,saying the current experience is an aberration assuring the party leaders that APC will still win kogi state,in view of the performance or the President and the party at the national level, promising to toe the same line when elected in August and November respectively Jibrin described kogi state as the home of APC and strong support base of President Buhari,not minding the present situation of workers and infrastructural development , the ex Naval boss promised not to let the party down when given the opportunity to serve his state,saying kogi problem is leadership but not age
He also dismissed speculations that the APC was planning to give automatic ticket to the incumbent governor Yahaya Bello.He said that people of the state were not looking for who would buy their vote and unable to deliver good governance and dividends of democracy.He said, “Kogites are demanding for good governance, having known the repercussions of the lack of it.
On speculations that the incumbent Governor would be given an automatic ticket by APC leaders, the retired Army General said that was not part of the party’s decision.
