Ahead of 2023,Kogi governor,Alhaji Yahaya Bello has entered into a secret covenant, to hand over the mantle of leadership to Honourable James Abiodun Faleke from Kogi west
This development according to impeccable sources was brokered between the two power block of Kogi west and Central, in the spirit of fair play and equity as well robust power shift
According to close aide of the member of the House of Representatives, the agreement Ied to the sealing of arrangement to handover Audu /Faleke faction of APC,even though,Audu’s political dynasty has denied their involvement in the new arrangement
The former Governor and late political icon’s family have since distance themselves from the new political marriage, between Kogi governor and James Faleke, insisting that Audu’s political empire is larger than James Faleke’s ambition ,insisting the camp is not a commodity
Faleke who refused to join Yahaya Bello as the state deputy governor was pacified through the intervention of APC leader,Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu
Kogi governor consented to the new arrangement in quest to secure a second term at all cost, hence requires the support of the entire people of Okun from James Abiodun Faleke
Similar arrangement was already brokered as condition precedent to the support of the people of Kogi east, that will transform the current Deputy Governor,Edward Onoja as Bello’s successor in 2023
But the people of Kogi West have insisted on enumerating the political benefit of supporting kogi governors ambition, particularly as a product of power shift from Kogi East,to Central, then West should be next in line.
With this agitations and preconditions,it is obvious that Kogi easterners may have a change of heart to support their own son in PDP, Engineer Musa Wada,if their interest of returning power to the area in 2023 is not protected
Already, the current deputy governor is in the euphoria of succeeding his boss,Yahaya Bello, hence the new sign of crossing the two arms, that signifies 16 years .
But,going by the politics of 2023,the APC leadership will prefer rotation of power in kogi been completed by the installation of James Abiodun Faleke in 2023
Count down to November 16,the new political marriage in APC will play out, provided the party will be able to retain leadership in the state, as a result of poor management of state resources by the present administration of Yahaya Bello.
