Former senator Dino Melaye, who is running as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the upcoming Kogi state gubernatorial election, recently engaged with voters and offered some advice. During his interaction, he encouraged the electorates not to fear the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), due to claims made by someone who refers to himself as a “white lion.” He emphasized that such claims are baseless and without merit.
In his words, “my people, don’t be afraid of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) because of someone who called himself a white lion. Have you ever seen a white lion before? It is just a mere lie.” He added, “governor Yahaya Bello kept spending billions when I was being attacked by security agencies and the electoral body.”
Melaye went on to highlight the actions of Governor Yahaya Bello, asserting that Bello spent substantial amounts of money during periods when Melaye himself faced challenges from security agencies and the electoral body. Expressing his confidence, the former senator declared, “I want you all to understand today that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) holds a stronger position than the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state.”
Finally, Dino Melaye addressed concerns about education, pointing out that he has already completed the construction of four blocks of classrooms in the Aseni community. He promised to replicate these efforts in other communities if elected as Governor. Melaye’s interaction aimed to reassure voters, emphasize party strength, and underscore his commitment to addressing local issues, particularly in the field of education.
