United People’s Congress(UPC), Governorship Candidate for November 16 election, Dr Sunday Abu Omogani, has accused the state party chairman,Moses Damisa of playing ethnic politics by dragging his party into endorsing Governor Yahaya Bello
A statement issued in Abuja by the candidate of the party, said on no account has he withdraw his candidacy for next weekend election, for the All Progressives Congress,( APC),candidate Governor Yahaya Bello
Dr Omogani wondered why for sheer political desperation,the state government has indulged in cornering party leadership into endorsing his ambition, to return to the state even when his perfomance is far below expectations of the people of the state
The UPC candidate warned the party leadership not to sell the party folllowership and his candidacy for a ‘pot of soup’ as well as tribal jingoism capable of overheating the polity
He appealed to the teeming supporters of UPC in the state to disregard any misinformation from the party chairman, as he is still in the race to Lugard house,and determined to win the forthcoming race
Dr Sunday Omogani admonished the general public both within and outside the state, not to cave into the antics of the party Chairman’s desire to sell the party for personal gains
He said his determination to change the ugly trend in the current leadership situation of the state is irreversible,saying kogi need a rescue from the shackles of leadership shortcoming occassioned in the last four years by the present administration
