Kogi Guber: The controversy surrounding Dekina PDP leaders visit to Capt Wada, Simeon Maha opens up

The leaders of Dekina Peoples Democratic Party has disclaimed the purported endorsement of Cap.Idris Wada ahead of the party primary, Alhaji Momoh Pele the zonal chairman confirmed this to THE OBSERVERS TIMES.
The leaders said that at no time did they meet to endorse any aspirant for party primary election as alleged in a “communique’’ of August 16, 2018, on the purported endorsement insisting that he arrived the meeting late may be such decision must have be taken before his arrival.
on 16th of August THE OBSERVERS TIMES published a statement from Wada campaign media team of endorsing the candidature of Capt. Idris Wada for the second term.
According to the Zonal Chairman, Alhaj Momoh Pele,the purported endorsement meeting was mere Dekina PDP stakeholders meeting aiming at uniting the party leaders, the aspirants ahead of the coming primaries to enable them accept the outcome of the primaries and ensure proper conducts and plan ahead of the adhoc congress, considering the fact that some aspirant didn’t buy forms and those in that category also have to be carried along in party activities for the local government.
“We are fully in  support of party national position for free and fair and enabled environment for all the aspirants, that the party’s tickets to the positions of Kogi governorship election shall be decided through primaries.
“The PDP in Dekina local government  prides itself of a strong leadership and we have always had robust discussions leading to peaceful electioneering.
We only went there to greet him, Divisional Chairman.
Ocheni Ibrahim aka Ejini on the same page with Momoh pele confirming the story to THE OBSERVERS TIMES states that there is nothing like endorsement in the meeting with Wada rather the interest of the party was only discussed on how to prevent the violence that always occur in Dekina local government which has become an annual ritual, though he said he came with Momoh Pele late to the meeting but the issue of Wada endorsement wasn’t discuss.
But reacting to the development, the former aspirant, Simeon Maha, confirmed the endorsement, said the leaders of the Dekina agreed to endorse Wada ahead of the party primary insisting that Dekina should be allowed to complete the remaining four years, “I sacrificed my aspiration for the interest of Dekina local government, Dekina and Bassa has zeroed down on  Capt. Idris Wada as their own choice, though exonerating Alhaji Momoh Pele and Ejini from the endorsement meeting said” as at the time of the meeting to queue behind Wada, the party executives like  Momoh Pele and divisional chairman were not around, Simeon Maha also confirmed that Dekinal leaders of the party  are ready to talk to other aspirants from Dekina to step down for Wada as that will allow the local government to complete the remaining four years.
Maha said the leaders from Dekina local government will also visit the other aspirants from Dekina to enable them speak in one accord, the main actors from Dekina who also bought forms are Muhammed Shaibu Tettes, Eng Musa Wada, Rt Hon. Emmanuel Omebije
