In view of the forthcoming governorship election slated for November, 2023, Kogi governor has paid paltry one month salary to former appointees of his predecessor, out of the four months salary arears owed including severence package.
Kogi Governor who promised to offset the outstanding four months salaries and severence package has seems renege with his current reaction.
The arears, statutory entitlements of the former appointees was not paid by the previous administration due to paucity of funds.
But , emissaries to the current administration only paid off with one month arears, after many promises and political commitment.
Feelers from the cross section of former appointees and the public, said the preference for payment of all the appointees entitlements was expected from the state government as it is a right, but not privilege.
A cross section of people in Kogi state also described the payment as a greek gift in anticipation of continuous support to Bello’s third term after many years of maladministration.
