Alh. Abubakar Ibrahim, Peoples Democratic Party major governorship aspirant paid a scheduled visit to Ofu LGA, with the visit described as one of its kind by party faithfuls.
Ofu LG executives, delegates and the members of the PDP in the area stated this in separate remarks when Abubakar Ibrahim’s star studded camp team made a stop over at Ugwolawo to woo delegates ahead the 3rd September governorship primaries of the PDP.
Speaking to the delegates, Abubakar Ibrahim assured that his rich understanding of Kogi state, its people, economy and politics, his entrants into the race signals a new beginning for growth and development if elected as he intends to bring his knowledge to bear through good governance.
The guber hopeful expressed confidence that he has what it takes to move the state from its present predicament of hunger and suffering, described the plight the people are passing through as unnecessary.
Abubakar Ibrahim described the forthcoming governorship election in the state as another opportunity for the people to correct the wrong of the past, says he has presented himself for purposeful leadership, one that is geared towards improved wellbeing of the people appealed to the delegates on the need to make informed decision.
He urged delegates to the party’s delegates convention to think of the sufferings of Kogi people, the hunger and deprivation, says he has a well articulated blueprint that would if elected, return the state to its lost glory and make it a state that would guarantee that the coming generation realize their dreams and potentials.
While noting that the people of Ofu should key into his rescue project for the state, expressed confidence that the overwhelming support he enjoys across the state should spur delegates to key into the desire to have the PDP effect the change they so desire.
The guber hopeful promised to improve on the wellbeing of the people, says agriculture, education, security and infrastructure development, with emphasis on improved welfare of the civil service remains his focus if elected.
Abubakar Ibrahim thanked the people for their kind words of support and acceptance, promised not to misplace the confidence reposed on him.
