Against the of court injunction challenging the kogi governorship primary election,APC electoral committee headed by Governor Badaru of Jigawa state have defied court order and went ahead with the exercise in lokoja Confluence stadium
Distraught over the premeditated decisions of the party that disqualified some aspirants including the litigant,Prince Mustapha Mona Audu and other prominent aspirants including former Chief of Naval Staff,Usman Oyibe Jibrin,Mohammed Unekwu Audu and Professor Seidu Mohammed Onailo Ogah among others
Mustapha was disqualified both by the screening committee and the NWC of the party over non qualification among other provisions
The Federal High Court in Abuja, served the APC NWC of the order restraining the party from carrying out the kogi Guber primary election,as the party went ahead against the order of the court
The injunction has 14 Days response from the APC NEC, on why the party should not be sanctioned over breach of court order, from going ahead to conduct kogi primary election
APC may not have candidate in the next kogi governorship election going by Rivers,Zamfara experience were a court ruled over the controversial primaries held by two factions in the states as tgis is similar to kogi scenario
Many contestants may also institute a pre-election matter over the shoddy and haphazard as well as compromised primary election, carried out in Kogi that declared the state Governor as winner,as supporters of other aspirants were prevented from entering the venue of the exercise, including the inscriptions of the governors name on all the voting materials
Another twist to Kogi governorship election is allegation of double registration and age discrepancies of Kogi governor, that may atrract the attention of the opposition party to drive home their points
No date has been fixed for the hearing of the substantive suit
