November 16th 2019 is going to be an historic day in the life of the good people of Kogi State when they will be expected to go to the poll to elect a new governor that will govern the state for the next four years.
The last four years, has been a torturous and turbulent journey for the people of the state especially under the incumbent leadership Governor Yahaya Bello, who has done much more by adding more burden to the woes of the people of the state. Salaries of workers are not coming as when due, many workers are owed up to eight months or even more. Businesses are at their lowest activity. Diseases and sudden deaths are rampant-even suicide. Artisans are bitter over lack of job to carry out. Parents are finding it extremely difficult to feed their families and thousands of students now stay at home due to lack of money to finance their education.
There is general insecurity in the state due to activities of hoodlums, kidnappers, armed robbers and cultists who have been having field days in Kogi State, carrying out their wicked acts as a result of weak governance being experienced in the state.
Business men and women are leaving the state in droves in order to escape the collapse of their businesses. Civil servants are nagging their teeth and they are highly paled and dehydrated due to insufficient food to sustain their bodies. Generally speaking, Kogi State is terribly sick and at the verge of death under the current leadership in the state.
The four years of the regime is like the 400 years or thereabout the Israelites spent in Egypt as slaves. Every Kogite seems to be suffering from malnutrition, diseases and debt burden. Like the Israelites of the old, who would turn to the living God to save them from their oppressive leaders. Today too, Kogites are turning to God to set them free from the draconian leadership style currently going on in the state. Religious centres have become places where supplications are offered to God to save them from the wicked government imposed on the people of the state after the sudden death of Prince Abubakar Audu in 2015.
The people are very confident that God will answer their prayers, that a change will come their way through the election of Engr. Musa Wada and Hon. Sam Aro of Peoples Democratic Party PDP as the next governor and deputy- governor of Kogi State respectively come 16th November, 2019. Enough is enough as the people cannot go for another four years of maladministration put in place by Mr. Bello and his cohorts.
Kogites are yearning for a total change in governance in the state in order to restore human dignity, sanity and confidence. The people are resolute to commit their votes to kick out non- performing governor and usher in people who have the fear of God, people who have real conscience like Wada and Aro. The illegal money and guns already stockpiled by the power that be in the state will come to nothing and absolutely nothing come 16th November, 2019, when the good people of Kogi State will defile all odds and file out in their numbers to look for a better hand to lead them. Enough of the deception of Bello!
The governor, the people are waiting for to see in the state is someone who will be truthful and loyal to them, someone who has the fear of God, someone who will work for the interest of humanity, fix the roads, improve on the standard of our health care delivery, re-work the hiccups in the education sector, put the welfare of the civil servants at heart and provide social infrastructure to communities without any prejudice such as WADA/ARO.
