Kogi Renaissance Group has handed down a note of warning to kogi state government over its cash for gratification to its agents, hired to destroy posters and billboards of opponents,particularly that of Admiral Jibrin Usman (Rtd),of APC The group in a statement on Friday in lokoja by its spokesperson,Emmanuel Uwodi said reliable information obtained has confirmed the payment of variously from 10,000 to 100,000 as payment for those who offered themselves as agents and mercenaries been used to destroy billboards,posters and other awareness materials to further the political chances of state government contenders, for November governorship election “We are in possession of vital information and matching order by the state government and its agents, to destroy every posters/ billboards and banners in and outside lokoja the state capital for a juicy fee to frustrate their political opponents by the hoodlums.
This situation had remained unabated despite series of complaints and reports to security agencies and constituted authorities to protect the political interest of all party’s According to Uwodi,Kogi state government hinged its decisions not to rescind its actions in spite of the dicey situation surrounding the APC ticket to Governor Yahaya Bello, as the custodian of the state leadership hence they can go to any length He said it is not the intentions of Admiral Usman Jibrin campaign committee to respond to such kangaroo conduct a or take the laws as a corollary to violence,but will resist obvious intimidation anywhere possible He warned the state government not to allow lawlessness as a norm towards the end of its administration,saying the surveillance team of Admiral Jibrin will not hesitate to hand over such agents to security agents when caught in the act The group also warned our promising youths not to be encourage by the current administration,who never meant well for their advancement, as a willing tool to expose them to security breach and threat in the state “It is already in the public knowledge,because of series of failed attempt to get the party nod to return to Lugard house,all efforts were been adopted to overheat the polity in the state,so as to create confusion ”
“Monies meant to offset arears of salaries and pensions including the implementation of the new minimum wage,infrastructural development are been channelled into meaningless venture that had no direct bearing in the immediate kogi society ” He also advised the state government to create a level playing ground and enabling environment for other players,since it is obvious,the massive failure of the present leadership in the state .
The group alleged the dicey roles of security agencies as not helping matters,urging them to be neutral at this point and crucial time of the political development of the state
