Soon after the primaries that produced People’s Democratic Party’s candidate,Dr Engineer Musa Wada and the runners up,Chief Sam Aro,the political equation and calculation of the Kogi election due for November, is closing in to the incumbent leaders, hence the gravitation of the ruling party in Kogi, under Governor Yahaya Bello, jumping from one palpable and mere lip service endorsements, to another without yielding any fruitful results.
This is because of series of attempts to frustrate the main opposition party, from producing a candidate for the November election had failed, unlike the intra and inter influence that charecterised the ruling party, through subtle disqualification and usurped primaries, to interference in other political party’s, particularly the SDP,not to produce candidate for the next contest, for fear of balkanisation of the acclaimed stronghold of the current governor.
APC and INEC played into the hands of the desperate Yahaya Bello the state governor, after a much splash of state funds, meant for the payment of workers salaries, pensions and infrastructural development of the state, to preference to development of top party echelon, INEC and other stakeholders, to return to Kogi leadership at all means possible,a glaring anti democratic practice.
It is only in Kogi, that the rules of the game was changed to favour and advance obvious maladministration, wanton misplacement of Kogi funds, poverty ridden society/ leadership, characterised by denials to statutory and social obligation, in the last four years, to pave way for another round of traumatic governance, under BelloOnoja worst case, that can not be achievable.
Unperturbed by the gimmicks of the ruling party, the main opposition PDP indulge in fence mending and genuine reconciliation, soon after the primary election threatened by anti people’s elements, within the society to no avail
Engineer Musa Wada/Sam Aro campaign council embarked on a ‘Thank you tour’, commenced by his running mate,a strong political bulldozer, community leader and philanthropist from the western senatorial district, that started from his ancestral origin of Kabba in Okun land, about 80km away from his residence in Yagba west,Odo Eri Community of the state.
Soon after the visit to his community, rumour of endorsement of incumbent administration started depleting, as the deputy governorship candidate,Chief Sam Aro’s leadership instincts as a former federal lamaker, oil mogul, business entity transcends the so called political leaders in the area,by and large an employer of labour.
It may interest Kogi Westerner to know, that virtually all the current installed political leaders in the five local government of Okun speaking area, was installed and recommended by Aro,thus the proverbial twin bearer, that will require impartial practice amongst her siblings
Attempt by series of political failures and marauders to convince the western people to cave into Bellos second term, met the wrath of the most politically enlightened people, whose preference is resolve for the PDP candidate in November.
Before the dust raised by the Deputy governorship candidate,Sam Aro wane down, the biggest casualty had befall the bad leaders of our time in Kogi, that led to the sneaking out of the two main operators of the satanic leadership on kogi people,Governor Yahaya Bello, his Chief of Staff and Deputy governorship candidate absconded from the state capital, for fear of HBP.
By Friday, build up towards weekend, the unimaginable and the uncontrollable befall the state capital of Lokoja, beginning from the border local government headquarters of Kotonkarfe, were the visit of the PDP candidate and the next Kogi governor,Engineer Musa Wada excites the entire people of the area, chanting the common slogan of ‘YAHAYA BELLO MUST GO’, Kogi Must Work Again’.
The streets of Lokoja and it’s environs came back to life, as the next substitute of Alhaji Yahaya Bello been expected has finally landed, to stop all sorts of political harrassements, leprosy sign, and gale of ghost defection, that characterised both the social and conventional media, including empty road show, that does not entice any resident of the state capital, Lokoja.
From Welcome to Lokoja,to the Party’s secretariat, men and women, children of voting age and youths took over the streets and chanting victory songs, including the usual ‘Bello Must Go’ slogan ,crowned by heavy downpour, as a sign of blessings to sweep away the era of bad omen, inflicted on the people by BelloOnoja syndrome
Wada, call after addressing the party’s loyalists, zoomed to his village for more blessings from his root of origin, through Anyigba- Odu, Ankpa and lately Idah, heralded by a symbolic downpour, that will sweep away bad leadership in Kogi by November.
It may interest kogites to know, that Engineer Dr Musa Wada, was born and partly brought up in Ankpa, his late father,Pa Wada Ejiga hailed from Odu In Dekina local government area, worked as a Judge of various courts in the nine local government areas of Kogi east, while his mother hailed from Idah town in Idah local government area.
His homage,Thank you tour and his desire to seek the blessings of his offsprings and extraction is not out place, but in adherence to an adage in Yoruba language of ‘Anybody that pours water, as a sign of embarking on a trip, will definitely experience piece and equanimity’
Wada/Aro have convinced Kogites that a new era,new dawn has finally beckon, the people of the state,as light of their entry shineth over the darkness of BelloOnoja in Kogi, towards November 16 election.
