Kogi State Government has ordered immediate past political appointees to comply with directives issued by the state government to avoid embarrassment. This was contained in a press statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. (Mrs) Ayoade Folashade Arike. The state government frowned at the flagrant disobedience to an earlier order directing them to hand over all government property in their possession to their various Ministries, Departments or Agencies (MDAs).
The statement observed that some of the former appointees had yet to fully comply with the directive, warning that such disobedience could have dire consequences. It however advised those who have not complied to do so immediately as the present administration would deal decisively with any one found complicit in the act.
The statement reiterated that all former political office holders should return operational vehicle(s) in their possession to their respective MDAs. Recall that the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello had, in a radio announcement, in February 2020, directed that former political appointees should handover all government property in their possession to the ministry, department, or agency where they last served.
