Kogi: Family laments as kidnappers continue Terrorizing community, abduct more family members in Kogi state

TWENTY-four hours after three sisters of the same family were abducted in Kogi community, gunmen again struck and kidnapped five members of the same family.

The incident was said to have happened in Adabode-Sabo community in the Kogi-Kotonkarfe Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The Chairman of Kogi-Kotonkarfe Local Government Area, Alhaji Isah Abdulkarim, who confirmed the latest incident, said that relevant security agencies have been alerted

This is coming barely 24 hours after three sisters of the same family were abducted in Eteh-Okofi village of the same local government area.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday.

One family member, who volunteered information but did not want his name in print, gave the names of the abducted people as Ahmed Idris, Habitat Shuaibu, Hauwa Smaila, Maryam Mikhail and Abdulhamid Abubakar.

He said the gunmen, who came through the bush, invaded the house through the back door.

“Although they didn’t shoot as they carried out the operation quietly because of the security men at the main gate of the Kotonkarfe Correctional Centre located some few meters away from the village,” he said.

Recall that on Tuesday, three sisters of the same family were abducted by gunmen, who made contact with the family and demanded N100m ransom.

The state Police Commissioner, Ayuba Ede, said he had yet to be briefed, but promised to get the details from officers in the area and get back to our correspondent.
