Kogi FA: Hassan Wada Emerged New Chairman For Kogi Football Association

Mallam Hassan Wada has won the position of Chairman of the Kogi State Football Association following elections in Lokoja.

Results were announced by Alhaji Yahaya Alih Keller, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee for the Kogi State Football Association Election. It was revealed that Hassan Wada secured 25 votes.

For the Vice Chairmanship position, Ismail Salihu and Isiyaka Suleiman both received 25 votes each, becoming the first and second Vice Chairman, respectively.

In his acceptance speech, Hassan Wada expressed gratitude for the election and emphasized that his victory signifies a new chapter for football in the state. He outlined plans to expedite development and enhance grassroots football, stating, “The new board will soon implement developmental concepts that will benefit everyone involved in the business of football.”

Furthermore, the election marked a historic moment as Tosin Ojo Olorunleke, Team Manager of Confluence Queens FC, became the first female to be elected to the Board of the Kogi State Football Association.

Key figures present at the election included Dr. Rabiu Inuwa Sheriff, Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation Technical Committee, and Mallam Ali Abubakar Mohammed, Head Member Association and Special Duties from the Nigeria Football Federation.

Earlier, Hon. Abdulmalik Isah, Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens FC, commended the NFF board for reinstating order in Kogi State Football and urged the new board under Hassan Wada to collaborate with relevant stakeholders for the state’s football development.
