Kogi Ex-governor Wada, Condoles with the Family of Joseph Makoju MNI, OFR, former MD of Dangote Cement.

Kogi State Ex-governor, Capt. Idris Wada has commiserated with the the entire family of late Mr Joseph Makoju dynasty Okene, Kogi state.

Governor Wada described the death of Makoju a retired GMD/CEO of Dangote Cement as a monumental loss to the State and Nigeria as a whole.
He said that while in active service, the deceased displayed exemplary sense of patriotism, discipline and hard work, qualities that stood him out among his peers.
Governor Wada noted that it was also for this reason that he was always chosen for important and crucial national assignments while in service, Makoju served as special adviser on electric power to former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo.

He was also the honorary adviser to the president/chief executive, Dangote Group, and was a one-time chairman, Cement Manufacturers Association of Nigeria.

Governor Idris Wada urged his family, colleagues and the entire people of Kogi State, to take solace in the fact that the deceased touched many lives positively in his lifetime. He prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.

Makoju, was the pioneer chairman of the Board of the West African Power Pool and a former managing director of the National Electric Power Authority (Power Holding Company of Nigeria).

Makoju belongs to several professional bodies including the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the Nigerian Institute of Management and the British Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

He was awarded the Officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (OFR) and Grand Commander of the Special Order of Merit (GCSO), Niger Republic.

Capt.Wada along withAliko Dangote GCON Nigerian business magnate, the chairman and CEO of Dangote Group, and other prominent personalities attended commendation mass for the former presidential aide on Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, Abuja.
