Kogi Democratic Group has alerted the people of the state not to risk voting the state governor,Yahaya Bello as plans are already concluded to sell off state assets scattered round the state and other parts of the country when re-elected.
A statement signed by the protem chairman Rafiu Jamiu advised the teeming electorates across the state that it will be a serious set back, if the hard earned assets of the states of over four decades, is disposed within just 8 years of the present administration.
‘The state government in the middle of it’s tenure had designed to sold off state assets under the guise of funding some critical sectors, but was resisted by the people of the state’.He said.

‘Items classified to be sold out to their cronies and ghost private entities include new Kogi Hotels,Kogi Confluence Beach Hotel,Kogi Ultra Modern Motor Park,Kogi House in Abuja,Lokoja International Market, Kogi Liason offices in Lagos,Abuja and Abuja built and acquired by the previous administrations’.
He said in the last four years the state government has not embarked on any meaningful project that will advance the socio-political and economic development of the state, rather than funding crises, thuggery and engaged in diversion of funds meant for one contract to another.
Jamiu advised the present administration to account for funds meant for Ganaja flyover that had subjected the people of state to untold hardships.
He said the only way to stop the present leadership from disposing the asset to themselves and their cronies is to ressolve to vote them out in the next Saturday’s election.
The group said it is not unaware that governor Yahaya Bello intend to annexe the ultra modern Motor terminal and convert it to a private use by his personal transport company, saying the only solution is to vote them out.
He warned on the consequences of returning the current administration to Lugard house ,saying kogites will pay dearly for such grievous decision not only in the present dispensation, but for generation yet unborn .
