The Kogi state governorship election candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Musa Wada, in the November 16 gubernatorial election has filed a suit against Governor Yahaya Bello of the All progressives Congress.
Wada who was returning from the funeral of the Kogi state PDP women leader, Salome Abuh, who was burnt to death by some alleged APC thugs in the state said he came to file his petition personally because of the importance it commands.
Accompanied by some members of the PDP, his supporters and lawyer, Jibril Okutekpa, Wada challenged the declaration of Governor Bello as the winner of the 2019 Kogi governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Bello was said to have gathered a total of 406,222 votes to defeat Wada who was said to have scored 189,704 votes to emerge second.
In the three-volume petition spread over 500 pages, Wada is asking the tribunal to declare him winner, having allegedly polled the highest number of votes
