The Nigeria Army have confirmed the importation of thugs to disrupt Kogi election and have vowed to flush them out of the state.
The Army confirmed thugs importation at the AYEM AKPATUMA II flag off on Friday.
The Army said the operation will be conducted from November 1 to December 23.
It added that the operation will be extended to other neighbouring North – Central states such as Nassarawa, Taraba and Benue.
Mr. Nick Ejeh, a Major, and the Intelligence Officer, Command Army Records (CARs), during the flag off at the Irepeni Super Military Camp in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi state, said the operation will ensure all criminals in the state are flushed out.
Ejeh disclosed the operation will take place across the 21 local government areas in the state and will be conducted together with other security agents.
The army at the flag off, said it has a confirmed information that thugs have been brought into the state to disrupt the November 16 governorship election.
An attempt the Army has since vowed to resist, assuring they will be flushed out of the state to make the environment peaceful.
Apart from flushing out the thugs, the operation will ensure kidnappers and other criminals in Kogi state are flushed out.
Mr. Yahaya Bello, the Kogi Governor, at the flag off exercise, thanked the Army and other security outfits in the state for peace being recorded.
He promised that the state will do everything possible to ensure there is peace and everybody goes about their businesses without fear of any security threat
